At SPE Offshore Europe, Yokogawa Europe is featuring its range of instrumentation, control and safety systems for the offshore oil and gas sectors. Yokogawa has a wealth of experience in every part of the oil and gas business, from offshore and onshore facilities to pipelines, terminals, and deepwater operations. The company provides solutions that enhance safety, ensure accurate and reliable operation, and increase plant efficiency.
Systems products on show include release R6.01 of the company’s flagship CENTUM® VP integrated production control system. R6.01 brings together smart engineering, advanced operation, system agility, and sustainable plant. As a result, plant operators can be assured of an optimum engineering environment that spans the entire plant lifecycle, from plant design and the engineering and installation of systems and devices to the start-up of production, maintenance, and renovation. In addition, it is designed to meet the most stringent industry requirements for safe and reliable plant operations and environmental protection.
Also new is ProSafe®-RS R3.02.20: an enhanced version of the ProSafe-RS safety instrumented system (SIS) offering improved connectivity with the ProSafe-SLS SIS, enabling the status of both systems to be monitored on screen by operators of the CENTUM® VP integrated production control system. In addition, R3.02.20 offers enhanced support of widely used open communication protocols, improving connectivity with other companies’ SCADA (Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition) software.
On the instrumentation side Yokogawa is featuring its range of digital field wireless pressure and temperature transmitters and interface systems featuring ISA100 Wireless communications to enable sophisticated control techniques in continuous processes.
An important aid to the monitoring of pipelines and subsea installations is Yokogawa’s DTSX®3000 distributed temperature sensor. With a one-metre spatial resolution, this distributed temperature sensor can measure the temperature along fibre-optic cables up to 50 km in length, eight times the distance possible with the company’s previous model.
Applications include the monitoring of temperatures in unconventional oil and gas wells and the detection of leaks of high- or low-temperature liquids and gases from pipelines or tanks.
Also featured are Yokogawa’s vigilantplant services: a suite of comprehensive services that realise Yokogawa's VigilantPlant concept to help manufacturers achieve safe, reliable, environmentally friendly and profitable plant operations. From design through project execution, operations and maintenance, vigilantplant services make it possible for manufacturers to maintain Operational Excellence over the entire plant lifecycle.
