Omanoil achieves record 23 years without single lost time injury at oil terminal

Oman Oil Marketing Company (Omanoil) has successfully surpassed 23 years without Lost Time Injuries (LTI) at Mina al Fahal Distribution and Storage Terminal, a joint venture with Al Maha Petroleum. The terminal is in operation 24 hours a day with an average output of six million litres daily, loads more than 180 trucks every day and has a storage capacity of 55 million litres.

The facility, located just outside the Omani capital Muscat, achieved this record by constantly assessing risks, analysing standards and fostering a culture of safety and preservation of life, Muscat Daily quoted the operator as saying.

“It is a great challenge to operate such a busy terminal 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with its ever increasing movement of people and vehicles,” said Omanoil CEO, Omar bin Ahmed Qatan. “I am extremely proud of the 83 men and women who work tirelessly at the terminal and ensure the highest of HSSE standards are followed and enhanced all the time.
