Pressure Tech XHR300/301 series is recertified and introduces IECEx Prime Certification

Building on our current product certification, Pressure Tech is pleased to announce that we have recertified our XHR300/XHR301 pressure regulators against the latest revisions of the relevant EN 60079 and EN 13463 series of standards and achieved IECEx prime certification.

For regulators used in analyser systems, especially on hydrocarbon gases that require large pressure reductions, temperature drops due to the Joule-Thompson effect can create a problem with condensation and moisture drop out. Using a heated regulator helps maintain the gas in a dry state ready for analysis. Pressure Tech’s XHR regulator series boasts a unique dual heating design to combat any issues caused by the Joule-Thomson effect.

The regulator includes twin 100W heating probes which preheat and reheat the sample and are inserted directly into the flow path to help maintain saturated gases in their vaporised form. The regulator design gives the double benefit of reduced volume and improved heat transfer for the greatest possible efficiency. Our revised electronic controller also allows the power supply to be independently isolated to each heater, which can prove beneficial on some vaporising applications where LNGs are converted into their gaseous state.

The PCB is easy to wire and features an adjustable potentiometer to vary the temperature setting to the heaters. The metal to metal sealed Inconel X750 diaphragm, used on all our ‘300 series’ analyser product range, lasts 150% longer than 316SS and proven to perform better due to its chemical and mechanical properties up to 35bar (500psi). The sealing area is recessed and protected inside the body of the regulator meaning the diaphragm is always centrally located. The piston sensed XHR-301 allows greater pressure control up to 150bar.

As such, Pressure Tech have worked with SIRA, a reputable and industry recognised certification body, to ensure we provide suitably certified products for these types of environments.
