Worker killed in Irish factory blast

A man in his 20s died in hospital after being injured in an explosion on an industrial estate in Youghal in east Cork on November 18. Initial reports state that the man was injured in an explosion during the welding of an oil tank at a steel fabricators in Foxhole on the eastern side of the town, and was then airlifted to Cork University Hospital where he died.

The Irish Health and Safety Authority have been notified, according to the Irish Times,  and an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
