Factair - Hazardex 2016 Exhibitor profile
04 December 2015
Established in 1976, Factair was formed to help meet the compressed-air and breathing-air needs of an increasingly safety aware petrochemical industry. A fresh innovative approach to design and high build quality has ensured a continued presence at the cutting edge of breathing and compressed-air systems.
With a track record in the design and manufacture of ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 2 compressors, Factair can provide bespoke packages to meet your site requirements. Each system is specially designed to comply with the ATEX 94/9/EC equipment directive for equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
At this year’s HazardEx, Factair will be featuring details on its latest products designed for ATEX environments. These include the BA20EXHC, which is an electrically powered, breathing-air compressor designed to operate in a Zone 1 hazardous area (ATEX marking: II 2 G IIB T4).
Additionally the BA20EXHC is capable of operating in hot climates up to 50°C, whilst incorporating a thermostatically controlled oil cooling system to ensure that the correct operating temperature is maintained in cooler running conditions.
For charging high pressure cylinders we now offer the BAHP300EX which is an electrically powered, HP breathing-air charging compressor suitable for operation in a ATEX zone 1 hazardous area (ATEX marking: II 2 G IIB T3). A critical feature with charging compressors is the air temperature at each compression stage.
A important safety feature ensures the maximum permitted surface temperature (T3 – 200°C) is not exceeded, we provide monitoring on the outlet of all three stages which invokes an automatic compressor shut down should any temperature exceed 180°C. As with all Factair packages, the BAHP300EX is available with both inlet / outlet ATEX certified gas monitoring linked to the compressor control systems and configured to suit your site requirements.
Manufactured at Factair's facilities in Ipswich, all ATEX zone 1 products have a technical file registered with a notified body. Available options include both portable and fixed installation compressors powered by an electric or hydraulic power pack. The design and production process is routinely audited as part of the company's ISO9001:2008 accredited procedure.
