Explosion at Texas plastic pipe plant injures four

16 December 2015

Four workers were injured, two critically, when a pressure release at a Houston area plastic pipe plant on December 15 blew melted plastic onto their faces and upper bodies. A police spokeswoman said the incident happened as the workers tried to fix a clogged machine that melts plastic pellets at Moore Rod and Pipe in Humble.

Police said the plastic likely would have been about 550 degrees. Besides the two workers listed in critical condition, one was in good condition and a fourth was treated at the scene and released.
