Georgin ATEX product range launched in the UK

Industrial Interface is pleased to announce the company has become the exclusive distributor for Georgin Products in the UK. Georgin manufactures a wide range of Zener Barriers and Galvanic Isolators for ATEX applications and also makes high quality Pressure and Temperature switches. Georgin’s wide range of products carry multiple accreditation and many are SIL2 certified for use in safety critical applications.
The products tend to have market leading MTBF figures and are very competitively priced.
Georgin’s products have been widely used by companies such as Alstom, Bombardier and EDF Energy in virtually all industrial areas including military, marine, railways and nuclear power production and distribution and mining.
The four main product areas are as follows:
1) Zener Barriers - covering virtually every I/O application
2) IS Galvanic Isolators - universal unit with trips simplifies selection and stockholding
3) Pressure switches - can be sited in Hazardous area, resistant to shock & vibration
4) Temperature switches – directly connected or capillary tube connected bulbs.
In addition to the products above Georgin also manufacture the Tixo universal input in-head transmitter which can accept any process input and produce a 2-wire 4-20m output.
The new SG slim-line range of DIN rail signal conditioners include dual channel units which are only 6.2mm thick and so give an industry beating density of just 3.1mm per channel. They have an overall accuracy of better than 0.1% fsd and have 3kV isolation between input, output and power supply, in accordance with the EN 61140 standard. Configuration of the units can be via DIP switches or via the built-in USB port using GeorginSet software.
The Georgin range complements Industrial Interface’s own ATEX approved wireless sensors. These include wireless sensors for Pressure, Temperature (including RTDs and Thermocouples), Linear potentiometers, level switches and any other digital contact. The range of these units is a typical 1km line of sight allowing the receivers to be mounted in the Safe Area with the sensors being sited in the Hazardous Area. Transmitter battery life is more than 5 years at a 10s update rate.
The receivers can then output the process parameters as 4-20mA outputs or they can be read from the receiver’s communications port using either Modbus RTU over RS485 or Modbus TCP over Ethernet.
Up to 125 process inputs can be sent to a single receiver and multiple wireless networks can co-exist in the same geographical area. Possible topologies include tree and self-healing mesh.
