Friedrich Air Conditioning Hazardgard®
Hazardgard® is Friedrich’s line of room air conditioners specifically designed to cool spaces where volatile, flammable liquids and gases are used, within enclosed systems or containers, or under extreme temperatures.
“For more than three decades, global industry and high-tech leaders have trusted Hazardgard® to provide commercial-grade cooling under the harshest conditions. You’ll find durable, reliable Hazardgard® room air conditioners on oil rigs and military bases, in manufacturing companies and processing plants – anywhere hazardous materials are used,” said Wink Chapman, Vice President of Sales for Friedrich.
Friedrich has expanded the Hazardgard® product line to include ATEX / IECEx certified models. These new models have been designed with the same rugged features and long- lasting performance as before; however, they have been re-engineered to meet the most stringent international standards for hazardous locations.
“The increasing international need for safe and reliable air conditioning has driven demand for this durable and rugged product,” stated Chapman. These new certifications provide customers around the world with a cost effective solution to their indoor environmental and safety requirements. With a hermetically sealed compressor and a hot-gas bypass valve, the Hazardgard® can safely operate in low and high ambient conditions between 45°F and 130°F. Additionally, the corrosion-resistant coating provides protection against harsh environmental conditions (tested to 6,048 salt-spray hours) while maintaining efficient energy utilization.
“This is just something we can do to help our partners in the manufacturing, chemical, and energy industries keep their employees safe while meeting their budget requirements,” added Chapman.
Hazardgard has been trusted by industrial professionals for more than 30 years to deliver commercial-grade cooling in extreme conditions. From oil rigs to manufacturing plants, Hazardgard is designed to perform where flammable liquids or gases are handled. Hazardgard is certified in accordance with ANSI/ISA 12.12.01 Nonincendive Electrical Equipment and National Electrical Code, NFPA 70, ANSI/UL 484 Room Air Conditioners, as well as UL listed for Class 1, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D and Temperature Class T4.
