Intrinsically safe electrohydraulics is currently used in FPSO vessels (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading), LNG carriers, mining and in every typical applications in intrinsic safety areas.

“Intrinsically safe” specification is based on the principle of limiting the energy of electric circuits in environments with hazardous atmospheres. The solenoids must be powered through specific “safety barriers” to limit the max input current and thus avoid that electrical or thermal sources could cause the ignition of the hazardous atmospheric mixture, also in a break-down situation. 

Atos intrinsically safe valves are certified according to ATEX 94/9/CE, protection mode: 
•  Ex II 1 G Ex ia IIC T6 or IIA T5 for surface plants with gas or vapours environment, cat. 1, zone 0,1 or 2
•  Ex I M2 Ex ia, solenoid group I for surface, tunnel and mining plants 
They comply with the highest safety standards within a comprehensive range including pressure, flow and directional control valves, also in leak free cartridge execution, plus the electrical safety barriers specifically designed to grant valves’ best performances.

Atos ex-proof stainless steel valves grant top reliability and performances in extreme corrosive environments, at low ambient temperature up to -60°C and in application making use of water based fluids and pure water as well.


Explosion proof stainless steel solenoids are now available with “multicertification” marking ATEX, IECEx and EAC for Gas, vapours and Dust: 
• Gas group IIC, Conductive Dust IIIC, T° class up to T6/T85, with high protection level for explosive Gas (Gb) and Dust atmosphere (Db)
UL certification is available as well:
• CULUS LISTED according to UL1002 & CSA22.2 n°139 Group I Class C&D

The Atos range includes leak free poppet style or spool type; direct or pilot operated; on-off or proportional solenoids, with standard 10 W or low consumption 3,5 W power supply designed to comply with demanding requests typical of Offshore, Chemical, Energy, Minerary, Subsea applications.

Atos pumps, PFEA vane and PVPCA piston, are certified for application in potentially explosive atmosphere according to ATEX 94/9/CE - protection mode Ex II 2/2 GD cbk IIC T6. 

They are suitable for application in category 2, surface plants with Gas, vapours and Dust environment: 
* PFEA - fixed displacement vane pumps in 3 sizes with Pmax 300 bar and displacement from 10 to 150 cc3/rev
* PVPCA - variable displacement axial piston pumps available in 4 sizes with a wide range of hydraulic and proportional controls; Pmax up to 280 bar - displacements from 29 to 88 cc3/rev
ATEX pumps are designed to comply with typical of Offshore, Chemical and Energy, applications.
