Three injured in Pennsylvania co-generation plant blast

Three people were taken to the hospital after an explosion at the Cambria Co-Generation Plant in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, on October 3. The plant was shut down and contractors were cleaning the plant's coal bunkers when the explosion occurred. Of the three, two suffered serious burns and were taken to UPMC Altoona for treatment.

Company manager Shawn Simmers said the plant was not in operation at the time of the incident and no Cambria Co-Gen employees were injured. The investigation is still ongoing on the cause of the explosion.
