Explosion kills one at West African steel factory

According to GhanaWeb, one worker was reported dead and seven others were in critical condition following an explosion on October 22 at Sentuo Steel, a Chinese-owned steel manufacturing company in the Tema Heavy Industrial Area west of Accra, Ghana.

The eight casualties, including a Chinese national, were showered with molten metal after the steel smelting equipment they were working alongside exploded. They were all taken to hospital in Tema and Accra, but one died soon after.

One other is still in a critical condition, five are stable and two have been discharged, according to GhanaWeb.
