PHMSA fines ONEOK $732,100 for 2008 Kansas pipeline fire

The US Department of Transportation's (DOT) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) today issued three Final Orders with required corrective actions and civil penalties totalling $732,100 to ONEOK following a fire at a company facility in Bushton, Kansas, in 2008.

An investigation into the fire found 15 violations of the pipeline safety regulations. There were no injuries as a result of the fire.

Tulsa-based ONEOK operates 11,500 miles of pipeline transporting hazardous liquids in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and several other states. The fines are against ONEOK NGL Pipeline, L.P., ONEOK NGL Pipeline, L.L.C., and ONEOK Underground Storage Company, L.L.C.
