Two killed, two injured in India steel plant blast

A blast at the Arya Iron & Steel Company (AISCO) in Keonjhar district, Odisha, killed two and seriously injured another two workers, according to a report by the Odisha Sun Times on April 8. The two workers were found dead in the furnace oil tank, which was the source of the explosion.

According to reports, the tank exploded when a six-member team comprising an engineer, a foreman, two welders and two helpers were engaged in repair work on the tank.

The exact reason behind the explosion is yet to be ascertained. A probe has been launched by the Odisha Factories & Boilers Directorate into the incident.
