08 September 2017

Six people were killed and 11 injured after fire broke out following a gas cylinder explosion at a building under construction in Juhu, Mumbai, on September 6. The injured – nine men and two women – were admitted to a nearby hospital, PTI reported, with eight said to be in a critical condition.

The victims were construction workers staying at the site. Around 17 people were living in makeshift accommodation in a section of the building when the fire occurred. Locals pulled out 10 persons from the structure before the fire brigade arrived to tackle the fire and rescue the other victims.
