Seven people injured in India steel plant explosion
06 April 2018
A blast at the SS Steel plant situated near Chanalo village at Sirhind, Punjab, injured seven workers on April 5. Four labourers including one with 20% face burn injuries were admitted to hospital and the other three discharged after first aid.
According to the Times of India, this is not the first time the SS Steel factory has witnessed a furnace blast. On November 10, last year, four people were killed in a similar explosion while four others were injured.
Then, factory owner Suresh Goyal was charged with negligence causing death, however a lack of follow-up paperwork meant the charge was not pursued.
