Irish sawmill explosion and fire injures two firefighters

Two firefighters were injured in an explosion and fire at a County Cork sawmill. The fire broke out at Palfab sawmill, owned by the GP Wood Company, outside Lissarda near Macroom on July 13. Eight units from Cork City and County tackled the substantial fire, and the two casualties suffered blast injuries from an explosion on the site.

Both men were taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) for assessment and treatment, and were later discharged.
