The continued rise of Industrial robots for use in hazardous locations – Read our latest white paper!
26 July 2018
Safety is always a paramount task when it comes to working in hazardous locations (HazLoc), particularly in a potentially explosive environment. These working environments include automotive, subsea missions, leaks in oil fields, materials handling, welding, and painting.
Operating and maintaining equipment meant for use in these conditions, also known as Ex equipment, must be carried out by competent personnel to avoid potentially devastating outcomes.
But industry is evolving so rapidly that there are now applications where human beings have limited capabilities to carry out required work and where some tasks in HazLoc are difficult to control. In such cases, robots can be deployed to perform dangerous tasks in an effort to minimize risks to humans, property, and the environment.
