Trolex releases new multi-gas detector to improve personal protecetion of industrial workforces
20 December 2018
Trolex, a Manchester-based provider of workplace safety technology solutions to the mining, industrial and tunnelling sectors, has vowed to cut the cost of ownership of essential mine monitoring equipment by up to 90% with the launch of its GasHawk personal gas detection monitor.
Trolex is bucking the industry trend and offering cost price replacement cells in its new GasHawk multi-gas detector solution - introducing the most cost-effective personal gas monitor into the market.
Features include the capability of monitoring up to six hazardous gases simultaneously; inductive charging; and improved battery packs which can be easily switched out in hazardous environments.
GasHawk is approximately 50% lighter than many other competitive gas detector units, offering users an easy to use and ergonomically designed device. The IP67 rated and ATEX approved detector can withstand the harshest environments and deliver accurate monitoring without needing to be charged for up to seven days.
Glyn Jones, Group CEO of Trolex, said: “The introduction of the GasHawk detector is set to be "game changer" in personal safety device and environment monitoring. We have reduced the cost of replacement cells by up to 80% compared to our competitors. It’s time the industry stopped over-charging and focussed on meeting the regulations relating to individual health and safety as the risks of exposure to hazardous substances become more apparent.”
The release of the GasHawk detector highlights the issue of hidden prices of consumables and offers the best protection for workers at honest prices. The GasHawk personal gas detection monitor also promotes the following qualities:
• Inductive charging system with no exposed contacts, eliminating charge failures
• Intrinsically safe battery pack can be changed-out even in the hazardous area
• Bright, clear illuminated display for easy viewing in varying light conditions
• Full data-logging and easy download feature through our dedicated software
• Multiway stack charger for space saving desktop charging
Jones continues, “These days, the total price of ownership over the equipment’s lifecycle is forgotten about, leaving customers simply making a decision based on the initial up-front costs. However, operations and safety managers need to take this cost into account and ensure that they are investing in technology that will not only drive down costs, but also allow them to get a much-improved oversight of the quality and value of any investment.”
