The oil industry meets in Abu Dhabi

01 October 2008

The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference 2008, (Adipec), one of the largest oil and gas events in the world, will take place 3 – 6 November 2008. As the inaugural event for the newly completed Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec), the tradeshow will cover more than 85,000 square metres of indoor exhibition space, making this event the largest in Adipec history

Adipec 2008 is perhaps the leading event for industry professionals, experts and government officials to promote their business and services, network, as well as see for the first time the latest technologies and innovations for the coming year. The exhibition and conference promises manufacturers, service providers, research communities and professionals a unique international platform to promote their new technologies, products, ideas, and services to the major oil producing companies.

Adipec 2008 expects to host between 35,000 – 40,000 industry executives who are spearheading the growth and development of the global oil and gas industry. It is the only international oil and gas show with representation from major international and national oil companies and operating companies besides manufacturers of related equipments.

The Adipec Conference, organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers, has gained a reputation as a
meeting of minds for the global oil and gas industry. Adipec’s 2008 Conference ‘Working together to deliver
sustainable growth: Innovative teams & technology deployment’ is certain to provoke informed discussion
and debate amongst global industry leaders and researchers. The Conference will bring together more
than 200 international speakers delivering keynote addresses and participating in executive panels, technical presentations, poster sessions and panel discussions with nearly 2,000 delegates.

The organiser has made substantial investment in show content and programme features specifically
designed to create an atmosphere that will attract international buyers and influencers from the petroleum
industry at the highest levels. And following the success of the inaugural Energy 2030 Conference in 2006, Adipec has been working closely with Adnoc and The Petroleum Institute to stage a 2nd edition of the event within Adipec 2008 and lead the education and international debate on future energy resources and
technologies. Additionally, Adipec has joined forces with Eurmoney Conferences to present the Energy
Finance Summit – an open forum for lively debate amongst financial professionals, investors and regulators.
