ExAMS offers a comprehensive software solution for Ex asset management, delivering a paperless workflow for the inspection, repair and maintenance of electrical assets, helping meet the ATEX European directive to improve the health & safety and protection of employees from the risk of potentially explosive atmospheres.

ExAMS comes with pre-defined visuals, close and detailed inspection routines that comply with BS EN 60079-17 : 2007, and also allows users to create their own inspection routines for other operational system inspections. All inspections are simply uploaded to an intrinsically-safe PDA, allowing the engineer to follow procedures, record the results of inspections, and add additional notes if required. Once all tasks are complete, the information is simply downloaded and integrated into the main system database, logging all inspections and repairs in the asset history, which allows for reporting of all historical asset data, detailing the exact entries.

Using passive RFID technology, ExAMS allows each and every asset to be tagged with a uniquely identifiable code, eliminating the problem of unreadable barcode labels. Before an engineer can perform any inspection routine, the tag must be scanned. Once the task is complete the engineer then has to confirm the routine has been carried out to the best of his ability. The time and date of every tag scan and task confirmation is recorded, allowing audit reports to show exactly when the asset was actually visited for inspections, repairs and maintenance, and by whom. This traceability is invaluable when it comes to audits from the HSE or company H&S audits.
