Functional safety isolator and splitter

Moore Industries' new SSX and SST Safety Isolators and Splitters offer a reliable solution for accessing valuable HART data while dealing with Safety Instrumented System (SIS) related challenges.
The 2-wire (loop powered) SSX and 4-wire (line/mains powered) SST are certified by exida for single use in SIS up to SIL 2 and provide isolation and signal conditioning, while passing HART data between field transmitters and host systems.
The SSX and SST are the latest additions to Moore Industries' FS FUNCTIONAL SAFETY SERIES of products that have been designed and manufactured in compliance with the IEC 61508:2010 functional safety standard, verified for SIS use by exida. Among the many uses of the SSX and SST are:
- Isolating an SIS from process control or monitoring systems to prevent failures or disconnections to these secondary systems from impacting your safety system. You can rest assured that risk reduction requirements are met with our available FMEDA (Failure Mode Effects and Diagnostic Analysis) reports.
- Safety system protection from surges, spikes and transients in the field. 1500Vrms of isolating capability keeps your safety I/O cards protected from problems starting elsewhere in your system.
- Built-in HART pass-through technology allows you to pull critical data from loops using HART transmitters and read them on either side of the SSX and SST. This allows you to access the valuable HART information that other isolators typically block.
As with other FS FUNCTIONAL SAFETY SERIES products such as the STA Safety Trip Alarm and the SRM Safety Relay Module, the SSX and SST offer superior performance to the highest specifications while meeting the stringent demands of safety systems.
