China chemical plant explosion could have killed 13

An explosion on March 7 at a chemicals plant in northern China killed one person and left 12 others missing, according to Xinhua. The agency quoted a government of Hebei province statement that said thirteen people were on a floor that produced explosives at the plant Kailuan Group plant in the city of Tangshan when the explosion happened.

One person was confirmed dead, and authorities were searching for the 12 others.

The statement gave no cause for the explosion.
