AIS launches interest-free finance to help people train for offshore work
04 September 2014
AIS Training is launching interest-free finance packages to help people looking to break into the lucrative global energy industry. AIS, which trains thousands of workers every year for the oil and gas, wind, maritime and heavy industry sectors, is launching the interest-free credit option to help people spread the cost of training over 12 months.
AIS Managing Director Paul Stonebanks
The scheme will be available to pay for any training course costing more than £280 - subject to the delegate passing the necessary credit checks – and is underwritten by a third party financial partner.
Managing Director, Paul Stonebanks said: “Massive skills shortages still exist in the oil and gas and wind sectors so there are many opportunities for employment. However safety training is mandatory in these highly regulated industries and is an essential requirement before applying for jobs.
“We’ve found the financial cost of this training can sometimes be a barrier for those looking to work in oil and gas or renewable energy and we want to help by alleviating this potential stumbling block.
“Hopefully our new interest-free payment option will allow more people to access essential training, which in turn will open up new job markets for them. It’s an extremely easy application process and people can find out in minutes if they are eligible.”
AIS Training offers more than 80 industry-approved qualifications and competency assessments at its state-of-the-art training village on North Tyneside. The 150,000 sq ft training village includes 11 bespoke centres which provide realistic training in skills such offshore survival, emergency response, rigging and lifting, rope access, blaster painter and CompEx electrical.
