20 January 2015
At least 17 workers were injured in an explosion at the Liberian Agricultural Company (LAC) rubber processing plant in Grand Bassa County, near the city of Buchanan, according to FrontPageAfrica. The explosion was in the plant’s boiler house and showered the injured with boiling water and burning ash. As yet, the cause of the explosion is unknown.
The Human Resource and Administration Manager at LAC said all the injured would have full medical support, including the services of an expert doctor from France. He said the company’s priority is the health care of the victims, and it will later investigate the cause of the explosion.
All work at the factory has now been suspended.
