Blast and fire at Russian refinery kills one

An explosion and fire at Rosneft’s Angarsk refinery In Siberia killed one worker and injured another four on April 11, according to the Ria Novosti news agency, quoting a company release. The company said that the incident happened during welding work on a pipeline that was undergoing repair, and that an investigation into the incident would take place.
The Angarsk refinery was commissioned in 1955 and bought by Rosneft in 2007. The refinery is one of the largest Russian oil processing facilities and is a significant supplier of petroleum products in Siberia and the Far East.
