National Chemical Emergency Centre (NCEC) white papers
16 April 2015
The United Kingdom’s National Chemical Emergency Centre (NCEC) has been working with the emergency services and private sector companies for the past 40 years. They have developed an in-depth knowledge of the global chemical marketplace and its critical interactions with stakeholders - from regulator to supply chain.
The extent of their knowledge and expertise places them in a unique position to understand and support the context in which companies manage chemical risk. They have a global understanding of issues relating to chemical safety and legislation, built through many years of horizon scanning and response to policy. Their regulatory insight and strong international networks inform their complete global regulatory compliance solution range.
To help companies navigate the often complex regulatory requirements and to gain insight into best practice, NCEC have developed a range of complimentary white papers and resources, which include:
*Safety data sheet writing - This document has been created to help you complete each of the 16 sections required in an SDS and highlights the requirements that are frequently missed.
*Poison centre information pack - An overview of information related to EU Poison Centres including; contact requirement details, telephone numbers and fee requirements.
*Global emergency telephone number requirements - Information on global regulatory requirements and guidelines for emergency telephone numbers in relation to the manufacture, distribution and transport of hazardous substances.
*Crisis management - Guidance on incident and crisis management best practice, with practical considerations for your own crisis management and business continuity plans.
*EAC list 2015 - NCEC was again commissioned by the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) to produce the Dangerous Goods Emergency Action Code List (EAC List), published by TSO.
*Poison centre White Paper - Further to our survey on the use and services of poison centres, we have created a white paper which covers the findings of the survey and practical advice about working with poison centres.
