Cat causes Saudi power station blast

22 April 2015

A cat sneaked into a power generation station and scratched cables causing a blast, which led to a big fire in a residential area in Saudi Arabia on April 21, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported. 'Sabq' said civil defence men were still battling the blaze at the station in the western town of Makkah, adding that power has been cut from most houses.

Emirates 24/7 reported Sabq quoting a civil defence spokesman who said an initial investigation showed that a cat had gained access to the cable room and caused the blast.
