Yokogawa Engineering Asia has received an order from Marubeni Corporation to supply the control system for the Nghi Son 1 thermal power plant (two 300 MW units) being built by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) in the Nghi Son district of Thanh Hoa Province, in the northern part of the country.

Control system for biomass power plant (13 October 2010)
Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced that its subsidiary, Yokogawa Engineering Asia Pte. has received an order from Marubeni Corporation to supply the control system for the boiler, turbine, and auxiliary facilities at the Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex in Singapore, a cogeneration power plant that will rely on both biomass and coal as its fuel source.

Safety system for large-scale plant applications (09 November 2009)
Yokogawa Electric Corporation has released the ProSafe-RS R2.03.00, an enhanced version of the ProSafe-RS Safety Instrumented System. The enhancements include a new CPU module that is 3.5 to 4 times faster than the module used in the preceding version and a new digital output module that is intended for use with higher voltage devices.

Control systems supplied to coal-fired power plant in Vietnam (07 August 2009)
Yokogawa Electric Corporation has received a contract from LILAMA Corporation to supply control systems and instrumentation for the Vung Ang 1 power plant, which is being built for the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam). The contract is estimated to be worth $16.6 million.
Situated in Ha Tihn Province, the Vung Ang 1 power plant will have two 600 MW units, for a combined generating capacity of 1200 MW. Unit 1 is planned to be operational by mid-2012 and unit 2 by early 2013.
