Construction of UK energy-from-waste plant suspended 05 November 2015

The construction of an energy-from-waste plant at Port Clarence on Teesside has been suspended, affecting more than 700 workers. The Tees Valley facilities are the first of their kind in the UK, and the largest of their kind anywhere in the world. A GMB trade union statement says the problem seems to be a technology failure at the Tees Valley 1 plant, which was built for Air Products by Foster Wheeler Energy.

Sabic pulls out of PBT complex 01 June 2008

Saudi Basic Industries (Sabic) has declined a 35% stake in the $1-billion polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and related intermediates complex being planned by Osos Petrochemicals at Yanbu in Saudi Arabia. A memorandum of understanding was signed between Sabic and Osos January 2008. But after negotiations, the parties could not reach agreement on the project and Sabic has decided to pull out....

Foster Wheeler will build joint venture gas compression station 01 February 2008

The Republic of Mozambique Pipeline Investment Company (Rompco) has announced the construction of a R1.1 billion gas compression station, in Komatipoort. Joint partners in Rompco are Sasol, which has a 50% shareholding and iGas and Compania Mozambicana de Gasuduto with 25% each. A Sasol statement suggested that construction would start by mid-2008, and that the engineering, procurement and construction management contract had been awarded to Foster Wheeler South Africa....
