NAT switch with user-friendly routing functionality (24 September 2010)
The FL NAT SMN 8TX switch from the Factoryline product family from Phoenix Contact combines routing and switching functions in one and the same device. Using this switch, it is possible to always assign the same IP addresses to individual machines and then to convert these into the IP address ranges of the higher-level company network required for the particular application.

First international standard for wireless communication in process automation (26 April 2010)
At the Hannover Fair this month executives from ABB, Emerson, Endress+Hauser, Honeywell and Siemens voiced their support of HART technology.
The HART Communication Foundation has announced that the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has approved the WirelessHART specification as a full international standard (IEC 62591Ed. 1.0).

Safety coupling relays for process technology (08 December 2009)
The PSR-FSP safety relay from Phoenix Contact is a safe coupling relay that is specifically harmonised to operate with fail-safe controls (F-PLC) in process technology. Here, all of the requirements for use in applications up to SIL 3 according to IEC 61508 are fulfilled.
The coupling relay has a positively driven safety relay whose contacts have an optimised opening behavior when faults occur.
