Final California PG&E pipeline blast scammer ends up in prison (17 July 2012)
The seventh and final person charged with scamming aid bound for survivors of the PG&E gas line blast in San Bruno has been sentenced to time behind bars. San Mateo County Superior Court Judge Robert Foiles gave Deonte Jerome Bennett of Oakland three years in prison for pretending to be a victim of the blast that killed eight people in September 2010. read more...

Plastic gas pipes to be replaced in California after explosions (16 March 2012)
California state regulators have said large sections of Pacific Gas & Electric’s gas distribution network will need replacing because of the high risk of failure of a particular type of plastic pipe used extensively throughout the network. Pipes made by DuPont before 1973 from a plastic called Aldyl-A were responsible for explosions in Cupertino and Sacramento in 2011.  read more...

PG&E to pay San Bruno $70m for pipeline blast (13 March 2012)
Pacific Gas & Electric has agreed to pay the Californian city of San Bruno $70 million as compensation for the 2010 gas pipeline explosion that killed eight people and destroyed dozens of homes, the city and utility announced on March 13.
