South Korean nuclear group in talks to join UK’s NuGen newbuild project 13 September 2016

South Korea's state-backed nuclear group Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) is in talks to join the £10bn NuGen project to build three nuclear reactors at Moorside in Cumbria. UK coal-fired power plant closure increases fears of blackouts 08 February 2016

NuGen acquires land in NW England for Moorside nuclear project 17 July 2015

NuGeneration Limited (NuGen) and the UK's Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) have signed a contract to transfer land near the Sellafield site in Cumbria for NuGen's planned Moorside nuclear power plant. Oil leak causes shutdown at Belgian nuclear power station 11 August 2014

Belgian energy company Electrabel, part of the French GDF Suez group, said it had shut down its Doel 4 nuclear reactor after a lubricant leak, thought to have been caused by  a worker leaving open a valve. FANC, the country’s nuclear regulator, said the incident had no impact on the safety of workers or the public....

Toshiba announces UK nuclear deal 15 January 2014

Toshiba Corp of Japan has agreed to buy 60% of the NuGen UK nuclear joint venture between GDF Suez of France and Spain's Iberdrola for £102m. The deal involves the construction by Toshiba's Westinghouse subsidiary of three AP1000 nuclear reactors with a combined capacity of 3.4 gigawatts (GW) at the Moorside site in West Cumbria, next to the Sellafield nuclear complex....
