High wind testing for offshore applications (19 April 2011)
Explosion-protected EXLUX 6000 series luminaires for zone 1 withstand wind speeds of up to 187 km/h. R. STAHL's EXLUX 6000 luminaires for hazardous areas have been subjected to extensive wind tunnel tests. Withstanding wind speeds of up to 187 km/h without sustaining any damage, they proved resistant to the strongest possible air flow generated in the test stand at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia.

Horn for hazardous areas (16 December 2010)
Extending its range of signalling devices for hazardous areas, R. STAHL introduces the new Yodalex line of warning devices which includes a high-performance directional horn type YO9. This unit features a two-stage alarm with a high sound output of 115 dB at a one meter distance and an independently selectable second stage. The sound selection comprises 32 internationally recognised tones, which can be set via a five-way DIL switch.

Stahl a performance boost in high-temperature environments: the series of explosion-protected panel PCs now features Intel Atom series CPUs. The extremely energy-efficient architecture of these processors minimises internal heat loss and ensures continuous operation with full system performance at temperatures of up to +50 °C. Economic signal in hazardous areas (15 February 2010)
In addition to tried-and-tested models with halogen and xenon flash lamps, R. Stahl's 6162 line of signal beacons now also includes energy-saving LED-based continuous beacons and rotating beacons. With little self-heating, these new models are suitable for use in Ex zones 1, 2, 21, and 22. They fulfill the requirements of temperature class T6 and surface temperature for dust explosions protection T80 °C, and come with an integrated "increased safety" wiring space.
