Hazardous area equipment at Messe (12 April 2011)
Extronics exhibited its range of hazardous area equipment at Hannover Messe. Some of the products that the company showcased included the iCAM 501 zone 0 intrinsically safe digital camera - which they say is 'the perfect visualisation tool for use in hazardous areas'. The company adds that ATEX and IECEx certified, the iCAM501 can be used in all sectors of industry including Chemical & Pharmaceutical plants, Oil & Gas production platforms, Refineries and Mining to name but a few.

Probe provides long term maintenance free operation (12 November 2009)
Extronics has the iLEL100 Solvent Monitor probe which virtually eliminates maintenance. The iLEL100 Solvent Monitor was conceived and designed as an in situ solution for the continuous measurement of flammability of solvent vapours driven off in ovens and dryers within the coating/converting industries.

Supplying power to critical equipment in Zone 2 (02 September 2009)
Extronics has launched the iUPS200 Zone 2 uninterruptible power supply system. The system is certified for use in Zone 2 hazardous areas and provides back up power for up to 85 minutes, at 75W full load. Critical equipment is protected in the event of a blackout or brownout.

Zone 1 gas detector for inline gas applications (27 April 2009)
Extronics has launched the iLEL100 Probe to monitor the flammability of a gas or solvent vapour by insertion into a process or extraction exhaust duct or alternatively to monitor for a range of Toxic Gases. The probe has been designed to reduce installation and commissioning costs as well as substantial maintenance costs.

Wireless technologies take safety to a new level (02 December 2008)
The basic methods of mustering using manual paper, T card or passive card/tag reader based systems have a major disadvantage. They require the person to remember to sign or swipe in and out of plant areas and it is time consuming to tally that all the personnel that have assembled at the different muster points equates to the number of people on the plant.

Extronics launches the iWAP103 (22 July 2008)
Extronics has launched the iWAP103, an ATEX approved zone 1 universal access point enclosure. The iWAP103 is protected to IP66 standard. Other features include a 110/230 VAC or 24 VDC power supply, multi-mode fibre optic ethernet connection, antenna lightning arrestors and a heater to extend the temperature range of the wireless equipment to -20 Deg C.
