J & K Ross and DuPont Personal Protection have developed Arcban, a range of CE certified arc flash protective garments that are made from Nomex. Following a comprehensive risk assessment study and implementation of risk control measures, if it has still been decided that personal protective equipment (PPE) shall also be worn, the correct level of arc flash protective clothing shall be provided.

Electric arc protection from head to toe (02 October 2009)
PWG has launched a high energy arc kit made from Nomex. The kit, with Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) >40 cal/cm2 and certified to IEC 61482-1-1 and IEC 61482-1-2 class 2, consists of a jacket, trousers, hood and gloves that can be used in conjunction with respiratory equipment.

Advanced biofuels program making significant technical progress (28 January 2009)
DuPont Vice President & General Manager John Ranieri said the company’s plans to bring its two advanced biofuels programs to market are on track and making significant technical progress toward the commercialisation of biobutanol and the conversion of cellulosic feedstocks economically into biofuels. “Biobutanol and cellulosic ethanol have the ability to transform the biofuels industry,” Ranieri said.

Garment delivers enhanced protection (23 September 2008)
The DuPont Tychem BR garment, is certified to the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 1994 Class 2, 2007 edition standard, providing first responders an increased level of protection when dealing with chemical, biological or radioactive incidents. It is lighter weight and less cumbersome than a traditional fully encapsulated suit.

75% reduction rate of accidental burn injury (26 August 2008)
The use of heat and flame protective clothing made of DuPont Nomex has helped to dramatically reduce the rate of accidental burn injury over a four year period at a large chemical plant in South-West Germany. Up until 2003, each year between 20 and 25 accidents involving burns or scalds to arms and upper body areas had affected employees at the Degussa plant of Roehm, SW Germany.

Coverall meets demanding comfort requirements (21 July 2008)
The Category III, Type 5 and 6 protective garment, launched by DuPont, features a front and sleeves made entirely from Tyvek fabric and a back panel made of the company’s finely engineered advanced composite technology (ACT) fabric. DuPont has designed a coverall that meets highly demanding comfort requirements and limited protective requirements with specifically frontal exposures.
