Six die in pharma company explosion in southern India 09 February 2016

Six workers died and another sustained injuries after an explosion inside the Hasitha Pharmaceutical plant on the outskirts of Hyderabad, southern India. Local sources said there were 11 workers in the factory when the blast took place in one of the plant’s reactors, and a large fire subsequently engulfed the building....

UK chemical industry reports high confidence for 2016 08 February 2016

The latest survey of business confidence for members of the Chemical Industries Association (CIA) shows that more than 90% of businesses expect sales volumes to remain or exceed 2015 levels when there was a record 5% growth. More than 40% expect sales volumes to grow in 2016. Similar sentiment was expressed in terms of exports, investment in R&D and investment in buildings and technology....

Pharma unit blast in eastern India kills two, injures five 30 September 2015

Two workers, a pharmacist and his assistant, were burned to death and five others injured after a reactor blast rocked the active pharmaceutical ingredients manufacturing plant of Sainor Life Sciences at the Ramky group's Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma city at Parawada near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on September 28. One of the injured is in a critical condition with 50% burns....

Chemical and pharmaceutical businesses show confidence in the UK, but warn of challenges 19 May 2015

Most companies in Britain’s £50 billion chemical and pharmaceutical industry predict they will increase sales and exports in the next 12 months. The latest survey from the industry’s trade body, the Chemical Industries Association, shows a confident picture for the rest of 2015 and beyond. Pharma factory explosion in Brazil injures 26 23 October 2014

At least 26 people were injured, including three who are in a critical condition, in an explosion at a medicine factory in the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, EFE reported medical sources as saying.
