One killed in Israel pharma plant blast (28 May 2013)
On May 24 one person died and 31 were injured in an explosion and fire at the Teva-Tech pharmaceutical manufacturing facility at Ramat Hovav, Israel. A preliminary investigation showed the incident was most likely caused by a malfunctioning reactor. The injured suffered primarily from smoke inhalation and light burns.

Saudi refinery leak kills one (10 May 2013)
On May 6 one person was killed in a gas leak incident at Saudi Aramco’s Jeddah refinery, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The incident took place during routine maintenance and that the “limited” leakage was immediately stopped and the accident has not affected the company’s operations.

UAE factory blast kills two, injures four (18 April 2013)
Two workers were killed and four were injured in a blast at a brick factory in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, on April 16. Brigadier Mohammad Al Zaabi, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Civil Defence, told Gulf News that two workers were killed in the explosion, which happened at around 10.05pm in the factory in the Gheil area.

Rebels attack Yemen’s main oil pipeline (12 February 2013)
Yemeni oil company Safer told Reuters attackers had once again blown up Yemen's main oil export pipeline on February 8, halting the flow of crude to the Ras Isa terminal. The pipeline linking the al-Hawi Wadi Abida production field in the central Marib province to the Red Sea terminal has been attacked repeatedly.

Turkish factory explosion kills seven (05 February 2013)
Seven victims of an explosion and fire at a factory in the southeastern province of Gaziantep were buried in their home towns on January 30. The explosion and fire at the Güneydogu Galvanizing Factory the previous day killed seven people, including two Syrian nationals, and wounded several others, with officials suspecting a gas leak at the facility.

Lebanese fruit processing plant blast kills one (21 January 2013)
One man was killed and 14 injured on January 20 in an explosion at a plant used to process bananas in the city of Sidon, according to Lebanon’s Daily Star. The explosion resulted from a reaction between chemicals used at the plant, where bananas are ripened before sale.

Eight killed in Turkey mine blast (09 January 2013)
According to Hurriyet, eight mine workers were killed on January 7 due to a gas explosion at a coal mine in the Black Sea province of Zonguldak. Burhan Inan, general manager of state-owned Turkish Hard Coal Enterprise (TTK), which operates the mine in Kozlu district, told reporters that the eight were killed in a blast caused by a methane leak.
