Manager injured in explosion at Bangladeshi gas plant after striking match 01 January 2018

According to the Dhaka Tribune, witnesses said an explosion occurred when the field manager of the RPGCL oil and gas plant in Gopalganj, Sylhet, struck a match to check a leaking petrol supply line on December 29. The manager received serious burn injuries in the blast and was taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College for treatment....

Boiler blast at Indian sugar mill kills four, injures nine 21 December 2017

Four labourers died on the night of December 20 after a boiler exploded at Sasa Musa sugar mill in Bihar’s Gopalganj district. Nine injured in the same blast have been admitted to local hospitals, and most were in a critical condition. The reason behind the boiler blast is yet to be ascertained, and the police have arrested the owner of the sugar mill as part of their enquiries....

Indian pharma plant blast and fire injures seven 19 December 2017

A major fire broke out in a pharmaceutical factory in the Mumbai suburb of Turbhe on December 18 after a blast in a reactor, leaving seven workers with burn injuries. Around 50 workers who were working in the plant were evacuated after the blasts. The fire soon engulfed the two buildings adjacent to Modepro India Pvt Ltd where the fire broke out....

India power plant blast death toll reaches 36 07 November 2017

The death toll from the November 1 explosion at NTPC’s Unchahar coal-fired power plant in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, reached 36 on November 6. A total of 21 of the seriously injured were flown by air ambulance to New Delhi for specialist treatment after the incident and 18 are said to still be in critical condition, with further fatalities a possibility. Around 80 were less seriously injured....

Molten iron ore injures 15 in Indian metal plant 07 November 2017

At least 15 labourers were injured when a crane broke and the molten iron ore it was carrying rained down on workers in a factory in Haridwar district, 200 km north east of New Delhi, police said on November 6. Five of the injured in the incident are said to be critical....

At least 18 people were killed and around 100 injured after a boiler exploded on November 1 in the newest power generating unit at the NTPC Unchahar power plant in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh. The number of dead and injured may rise as many are believed to be trapped inside the unit and many of the injured have suffered severe burns....

Five killed in Kashmir coal mine explosion 08 August 2017

A coal mine in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir has suffered a fatal explosion on August 6 with five miners reported to have been killed. The Deputy Commissioner of Muzaffarabad, 20 miles south of the mine site near Seri Darra village, said seven miners were digging coal about 800 feet deep in a shaft when a gas explosion caused the roof to collapse....
