Daisy Data announces new ATEX Rated Portable Computer
19 June 2019
Daisy Data Displays are delighted to be able to bring you the new 4123 ruggedised touchscreen portable computer, now boasting ATEX Zone 2 compliance. The 4123 portable computer comes with a full range of customisation options, ranging from upgrades to the Intel Atom 1.91 GHz quad core processor that is fitted as standard, through to upgraded RAM, or even a solid state drive for increased storage space and load speeds.

A built in thermo electric heater, complete with thermostat control, and aluminium heatsink fins means the 4123 portable computer will operate in temperatures ranging from 65°C down to -40°C. It is constructed from a NEMA 4X rated aluminium enclosure with a special UV resistant paint finish available in a variety of colours, and a touchscreen made from a shatter-resistant glass. For connectivity, you have the choice of an RJ-45 network cable, or built-in wi-fi.
With several optional upgrades, and a choice of operating systems to choose from, the 4123 is engineered to withstand high shock and vibrations to survive your rig floor, truck, or ship mounted applications. It even has a VESA mounting pattern, so you can choose exactly where and how you want it mounted.
ATEX Zone 2 is a classification of the environment where these portable computers could be used. This rating in particular refers to a place where the air has the potential to be mixed with gases, vapours or mists which are explosive, if only for a short time. Laboratories, oil rigs, and gas fields are all good examples of an ATEX Zone 2 classification.
