16 June 2020 MOBILE GmbH has launched a powerful feature phone with international Ex-approval (ATEX, IECEx, NEC) for highly sensitive environmental conditions (zone 1/21). The high-quality, rugged plastic housing of the IS330.1, which has been designed down to the last detail, is certified to IP68 and the military standard MIL-STD-810G.

MIL-STD-810G makes it waterproof (up to 1 hour in a water depth of up to 2 metres) and dustproof as well as protected against shock and vibration. Another unique selling point of the IS330.1 is its future support of MCPTT (Mission Critical Push To Talk), making it ideal for use as a "radio" in 4G/LTE networks. The MCPTT functionality is a prerequisite for the use of the device in e.g. police, fire brigade or rescue services, where a secure, highly available digital voice radio connection is essential. In addition to the important ATEX and IECEx standards for explosion protection, the IS330.1 also meets the high performance and communication requirements for use in automation, Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon SDM660 processor with eight processing cores (4 x 2.2 and 4 x 1.84 GHz) and 4 GB of memory ensures an extremely fast computing speed even for complex audio and video applications. Android 9.0 is used as operating system, so that access to important apps in the Google Play Store is possible. The large internal 64 GB memory can be expanded to 128 GB using a microSD card. In addition, the IS330.1 offers the highest camera resolution for mobile communication devices with Ex-approval (13 MP main camera with autofocus and 5 MP front camera). A powerful, replaceable 4,200 mAh battery in combination with the sophisticated energy management of the 8-core processor ensures above-average operating times. The high-resolution 2.6" (6.6 cm) display is protected by a scratch and shatter-proof Gorilla Glass 3.

Numerous interfaces for extensive accessories

Equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, the IS330.1 enables interference-free wireless communication as well as the connection of various IoT end devices over long ranges with simultaneously high transmission rates. Headsets, cameras, passive remote speaker microphones (RSM) or other equipment for use in hazardous environments can be connected via the functional 13-pin ISM interface. Thus the IS330.1 once again sets standards: a universal tool for uncomplicated use in critical environments.

Designed for extreme environments

Thanks to its certification to the IP68 and MIL-STD-810G military standard, the IS330.1 can withstand all kinds of liquids, dust, oil mist, air pressure and temperature fluctuations from -20°C to +60° as well as vibrations, shocks and even falls from a height of up to 1.20 meters on hard surfaces. The extra loud, reinforced front speaker enables smooth, intelligible communication even in noisy industrial environments or rough outdoor use. Two nanoSIM slots complete the equipment package.

In addition, the mobile all-rounder has various sensors (G-sensor, magnetic sensor, ambient light, proximity sensor and gyroscope) as well as support for the satellite systems GPS/A-GPS/Glonass/Beidou/Galileo and an optional solo worker protection(via third-party app), which can be triggered via the dedicated SOS button. With the PTT (push-to-talk) button, the IS330.1 can also be used in the PMR area with appropriate software (via third-party app). The IS330.1 can easily be operated with gloves.

Scope of delivery

The IS330.1 comes with a rechargeable battery, charger, PROTECTOR 2.0 USB cable and a quick start and safety guide.
