Cortem Group releases new NAVB and NEVB series of barrier cable glands
03 August 2020
Cortem Group has expanded its cable glands family with a new barrier version for armoured cables, the NEVB series, and for non-armoured cables, the NAVB series.

NAVB series
NAVB and NEVB series barrier cable glands are suitable for use in hazardous areas with danger of explosion to enable direct insertion of armoured and non-armoured cables into explosion-proof junction boxes, lighting fixtures, plugs and sockets, etc. Thanks to their structure, they are particularly suitable for harsh applications, such as marine applications, and places subjected to stress and mechanical shock.
The barrier is shaped around the conductors thanks to a particular mixture that flows through them in the special bushing ensuring a complete seal. The liquid resin used prevents the formation of air pockets or voids between the conductors and the bushing. They are supplied with a resin kit made up of a two-component resin bag or a cartridge with resin plus mixer for use with a manual dispenser (optional).
Characterised by an ergonomic design and constructed of materials of the highest quality, the NAVB and NEVB cable glands series can be used with the main electric cables available on the market and in total compliance with all relevant international standards.
The NAVB and NEVB series cable glands top features are:
- ‘Ex db’, ‘Ex eb’, ‘Ex tb’ and ‘Ex nR’ methods of protection
