Coal mine explosion kills one, injures three in Turkey

An explosion in a coal mine killed a worker and seriously injured three others on October 13 in central Turkey. The incident happened at a coal mine in the district of Iskilip in Turkey’s central Çorum province.

Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency reports that the blast was caused by a build-up of methane gas.

In addition to the worker who died in the explosion, three workers were seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital. Two of the injured are reported to be in a critical condition.
