DNV acquires Jardine Technology

29 August 2008

DNV has acquired Jardine Technology Limited adding this company’s market-leading performance forecasting and optimisation products to DNV’s software portfolio. DNV will focus on marketing the software for the oil and gas, refining, chemical, petrochemical and rail industries.

This acquisition follows on from DNV’s successful acquisition and integration of the Jardine & Associates Limited consultancy company in 2005 – completing DNV’s offering of software and services in the market for reliability, availability and maintainability simulations.

The acquired software products include Maros for the upstream oil and gas industry, Taro for the downstream refining, petrochemical and chemicals industries and Trail for the rail industry.

These new products complement DNV’s existing market leading Safeti software for quantitative risk assessment, consequence modelling and management systems assessment. This software, along with DNV’s global base of highly qualified engineers, gives DNV a unique capacity to provide tailored solutions for improved financial performance combined with enhanced risk management to its customers, both local operator and multinational companies operating across the globe.

“We are very excited by the opportunity to provide a complementary set of risk management software products for improving asset performance and understanding the financial impacts and risks of alternative business decisions. There are significant synergies between our existing products and the new JTL software which we will be looking to exploit with our colleagues in DNV Energy, thus further enhancing the value to our customers,”said Elling Rishoff, DNV Software’s Managing Director.
