Saipex launches IECEx and EEHA qualification courses for 2022

19 November 2021

Saipex, an Italian Hazardous Area service provider based in Tuscany, Italy, is launching its own campaign of qualification courses for IECEx Competent Person and EEHA for Australia in 2022. As the only provider in Italy, clients are provided with high quality solutions, designed for their needs.

Guaranteeing Compliance & Safety of facilities and personnel is a critical aspect for stakeholders. The most effective means to achieve this is via competency (by addressing the knowledge, skills, or abilities) for responsible persons, engineers, designers, technicians, and inspectors, defined in IEC 60079-10-1, IEC 60079-14, IEC 60079-17, and IEC 60079-19.

IEC 60079-44 - Part 44 - Personal Competence, is being developed to identify the minimum level of knowledge and skills required to work in hazardous areas, and specific competence required for work associated with Ex equipment in explosive atmospheres. Roles may include Purchasing/Procurement, Commissioning, Process Operators, Non-Ex Personnel, etc.

With over 10 years of combined Ex experience (IECEx/ATEX, EEHA), Saipex began to promote the importance of competence of all personnel involved in the Hazardous Area field in 2019. In 2021, our partnership with IndEx and Tech Skill International (TSI) marked a milestone in the Saipex road to continue Ex improvement. Thanks to the agreement with IndEx, IECEx Recognized Training Provider, Saipex is now able to provide IECEx Competent Person course and the related certification issued by TSI - IECEx 05 Certification Body.

The Saipex team, consisting of IECEx certified area classification engineers, designers, technicians and inspectors, provides a wide range of services for EPCs, End Users, manufacturers, and electrical/non-electrical trades.

In 2021, Saipex has trained over 80 people, with 40+ applicants for IECEx CP. Thanks to our mobile bays for practical training and exams, Saipex can offer customised courses, in Italian or English, to clients asking for sessions at their own facilities.

The growing interest of hydrogen & ammonia in industry can make competency requirements more stringent, due to their unique material characteristics. Also, upcoming Oil & Gas developments in Australia will require persons to be duly competent and qualified for Australian standards. Awareness about explosion principles, Ex protection methods, compliant installations and required inspections shall be our compass for 2022 and beyond.

Saipex, side-by-side with everyone wishing to improve their knowledge, skills, and abilities with IECEx and EEHA. Soon, course agenda will be available at: https://academy.saipex.net/corsi/list
