08 September 2008

HazardEx has launched a newsletter discussing safety issues for industrial engineers all over the World. Each week we will give you a taster of what you can expect to find on the recently launched HazardEx website -- the news and information source for safety, health and hazardous area specialists. We understand how important it is to have relevant information at your finger tips. The HazardEx website fills this need.

HazardEx for information

In the current economic conditions with fears of economic slowdown and world recession, the process and manufacturing industries are under considerable pressure to improve efficiency and cut operating costs by reducing materials and energy usage. Sounds easy enough, although history tells us that one of the first cuts to be made can be safety related.

Cutting corners in procedure and pruning maintenance schedules can save quick money but at what cost. To make the right decisions about cuts, plant operators and planners need up-to-date information about their sector, especially if this happens to be a hazardous area. And here’s where HazardEx comes in. This is the first edition of our new weekly newsletter, bringing you the latest news and views from the hazardous area industry. The newsletter is published in conjunction with our news and information website, which has also been redesigned and can be accessed with links directly from this newsletter.

So how does this information help?

Keeping safety professionals in the manufacturing industries up-to-date with the standards and legislation that affect the process equipment in their care is key to the continuing safety and security of plant and personnel. The newsletter will offer readers a taster to the news and views expressed on the HazardEx website and provide links to site.

The new look website gives you everything the journals it supports can give you plus much more. Without the constraints of space and delivery times, the HazardEx website will bring you more specialist information with the immediacy of the Internet. Naturally, we will continue to publish our two paper editions – HazardEx the journal and Hazardous area International – to our registered readers in the UK and internationally.

I hope you enjoy our new website. Please follow any stories of interest to our website where you will find current and archived information about your industry.
