The Ex d enclosures are manufactured from a copper-free, seawater-resistant aluminum alloy. Optionally, high quality windows are available in the lids, allowing users to read the internal displays of measuring equipment. The enclosure body is machined to high precision and can be fitted with an additional O-ring which fits securely in place, increasing the ingress protection from IP54 to IP66.

Explosion and flame proof cable glands or threaded holes for conduit connections can be drilled directly into the enclosures or indirect entry can be supplied. Stahl offers users application consulting and provides complete packages, including control systems
