At present, Daqing Oilfield is vigorously cultivating new energy businesses and striving to build a green industrial structure and a low-carbon energy supply system. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the company is striving to build a green, low-carbon and sustainable development demonstration base, with a new energy installed capacity of over 2 million kilowatts and a clean energy replacement rate of over 20%.

According to Wang Jun, Manager of the Strategic Development Department of CNPC, the project uses two water surfaces, with a construction land of 400,000 square metres and an installed capacity of 18.73 megawatts. The project was completed and put into production in just over four months.

Daqing Oilfield Spark Water Surface Photovoltaic Demonstration Project, as PetroChina’s first water surface photovoltaic project, has completed the successful exploration of independent design and construction of water surface photovoltaics. Daqing Oilfield has proposed to speed up the development and layout of the new energy industry. Previously, PetroChina also established a new energy work leading group and a new energy division, and the three-step route of "clean replacement, strategic replacement, and green transformation" was clarified.

In terms of clean substitution of production energy, Daqing Oilfield has currently put into use 28 projects; in terms of CCUS flooding and storage, Daqing Oilfield is committed to the research and testing of carbon dioxide flooding technology in peripheral low-permeability reservoirs, and the supporting technical system has been formed. Five pilot areas for carbon dioxide flooding have also opened.

The successful commissioning of the Daqing Oilfield surface photovoltaic project has provided a solid technical reserve and beneficial construction experience for the subsequent development of various new energy projects, PetroChina has said.
