Process control systems further improve productivity and lower operation costs

Rockwell Automation has introduced advanced process control (APC) function blocks in the latest version of Rockwell Software RSLogix 5000 engineering software. The function blocks offer process users sophisticated APC technology that is simpler to implement. A redundancy module and improvements in system availability, further extend the capabilities of the company’s process automation system.

Process control systems further improve productivity and lower operation costs
The APC blocks provide compensation for long, dead-time processes and allow simpler multivariable control with automatic tuning built-in. Control strategy implementation with the blocks is straightforward and configuration is done within the RSLogix 5000 engineering software.
Allen-Bradley ControlLogix redundancy configuration is a core offering of the Rockwell Automation process automation system. The redundancy module improves the configuration by improving the throughput capacity and switchover time. Supporting multiple controllers in one chassis, the redundancy configuration expands the processing capacity to accommodate larger and more complex control projects. User-defined instructions are supported in the redundancy configuration.
On a running system, users can add programs, routines and user-defined instructions, and replace existing programs and routines from the RSLogix 5000 engineering environment. Faster control strategy changes can be made without affecting production.
