Water electrohydraulics
17 October 2008
Water electrohydraulics is the fluid motion technology for special environments with uninflammable requirements like steel plants, aluminium die castings and minings or eco-compatible and non toxic applications, like food, paper and woodworking machineries.
The term “water” refers to 100% pure tap water or to specific HFA oil-in water emulsions with minimum 80% water. They are uninflammable fluids, environmentally friendly, with the following critical features: - quick oxidisation of the hydraulic system, involves the use of stainless steel for all the internal parts in direct touch with the fluid; higher fluid’s leakages, due to the low water viscosity, demands more accurate coupling’s tolerances; and higher fluid’s speed requires special rugged and reinforced valve’s design to withstand the greater flow forces and the lower water lubrication properties;
Atos stainless steel valves and cylinders add to the conventional features of inoxidisable products. The typical advantages of industrial oilhydraulics include: superior functional performances, over 75% of standard valves and expected life over 10 million cycles; ISO 4401 subplate mounting for easy assembling and maintenance; industrial design derived from serial production with casting bodies, on-off or proportional original solenoids, etc, and modular design reduces the number of component’s parts and the relevant costs.
Atos stainless steel valves ranges from directional solenoid valves, to modulars and proportionals, with or without integral electronics and transducers.
Solenoid valves are also available in explosion proof version according to ATEX 94/9/CE.
Round heads stainless steel cylinders and servocylinders conform to ISO 6020/1; they are available in a wide range of sizes and options.
Stainless steel electrohydraulics is thus speeding up the diffusion of “water” hydraulics into motion control and automation markets.
