The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference 2008, (Adipec), one of the largest oil and gas events in the world, will take place 3 – 6 November 2008. As the inaugural event for the newly completed Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec), the tradeshow will cover more than 85,000 square metres of indoor exhibition space, making this event the largest in Adipec history.

HazardEx the journal and Hazardous Area International will be present at the exhibition, giving out free copies of the magazine to provide safety professionals with up-to-date information regarding the standards and legislation that affect the process equipment in their care.

Adipec 2008 is the leading event for industry professionals, experts and government officials to promote their business and services, network, as well as see for the first time the latest technologies and innovations for the coming year. The exhibition and conference promises manufacturers, service providers, research communities and professionals a unique international platform to promote their new technologies, products, ideas, and services to the major oil producing companies.

Adipec 2008 expects to host between 35,000 – 40,000 industry executives who are spearheading the growth and development of the global oil and gas industry. Adipec is the only international oil and gas show with representation from major international and national oil companies and operating companies besides manufacturers of related equipments.

The organiser expects over 1,400 exhibitors from 55 countries, and 18 national pavilions. Exhibitors include Hughes Safety Showers, Europe’s largest manufacturer of emergency safety showers, eyebaths and decontamination equipment. The company has supplied industry worldwide for more than 40 years and built a reputation for excellent engineering design, stringent quality standards and unrivalled customer service and support. CMP, a specialist in the design/manufacture of cable glands/connectors for industrial, marine and hazardous areas and will be showing products, including explosion proof fittings, which are available to suit a range of applications, international wiring codes, with a wide selection of approvals.

ContiTech Beattie designs and manufactures hoses and couplings, HP drilling and production hoses and fluid transfer systems to the oil and gas industry. At the show, the company will demonstrate how it manages all flexible hose requirements, from conceptual design through manufacture and supply, to hose management.

Torgy is the market leader in the supply of pipe supports and cable clamping systems to the Norwegian oil and gas industry and has delivered to every major project for clients such as Aker Kvaerner, Aibel and StatoilHydro. Torgy Atlantic designs and manufactures thermal insulation cryogenic and thermal isolation breaks for hot and cold process pipelines and vessels.

The MacLean Electrical Group supplies electrical equipment to the developing UK Continental Shelf oil and gas sector, servicing oil, gas, petrochemical, process, energy, marine and other industrial and infrastructure markets.

Aveva will be showing its plant and marine design and engineering lifecycle solutions at the Abu Dhabi show. The company’s Aveva NET extends and enhances the information management capabilities that were first developed in the VNET solution, which has been proven in multiple customer deployments since 2003. The package allows plant operators to maximise safety and productivity through providing access to mission critical data including real-time plant operating information. Working with companies such as Data Systems & Solutions and ISS Group has enabled Aveva NET to deliver sophisticated monitoring and management of vital real-time plant information and KPI’s. Using the program, plant operators can track plant performance characteristics and other vital statistics, which can be made constantly visible on-screen, alongside all other types of information.

The new release also features extensive collaboration and work process management capabilities. These enable users to develop solutions, which integrate and control the processes used to manage information content and flows within their business. These capabilities encompass workflow management, configuration management, impact assessment, management of change, and a range of other features designed to ensure information integrity and optimise business processes.

The Adipec Conference, organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers, has gained a reputation as a meeting of minds for the global oil and gas industry. Adipec’s 2008 Conference ‘Working together to deliver sustainable growth: Innovative teams & technology deployment’ is certain to provoke informed discussion and debate amongst global industry leaders and researchers. The Conference will bring together more than 200 international speakers delivering keynote addresses and participating in executive panels, technical presentations, poster sessions and panel discussions with nearly 2,000 delegates.

The organiser has made substantial investment in show content and programme features specifically designed to create an atmosphere that will attract international buyers and influencers from the petroleum industry at the highest levels. And following the success of the inaugural Energy 2030 Conference in 2006, Adipec has been working closely with Adnoc and The Petroleum Institute to stage a 2nd edition of the event within Adipec 2008 and lead the education and international debate on future energy resources and technologies. Additionally, Adipec has joined forces with Eurmoney Conferences to present the Energy Finance Summit – an open forum for lively debate amongst financial professionals, investors and regulators.
